Meet Tammy...

After a 15 year career as a singer and stage performer, Tammy is no stranger to living a busy and active lifestyle. Singing and dancing on stage for up to 6 shows per day at times, eating well and keeping in shape was of utmost importance. Now, after slowing down her performing career to have a family, Tammy has found a passion not only for keeping herself in good physical condition, but also for helping others to reach their fitness goals through Personal Training and Group Fitness.


After having 2 children, Tammy struggled for years to get back to truly feeling good in her own skin again and making the time to exercise was difficult, especially while dealing with the physical and emotional changes that come about with being a new mom. Drawing from that experience is what helps her to truly connect with her clients and their own personal struggles to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.


Throughout her personal journey, Tammy became fascinated by muscle anatomy and all of the many benefits the body can attain as a result of regular movement, resistance training and a healthy relationship with food. This lead her to teaching Group Fitness classes in various dance formats and getting certified as a Yoga and Barre Instructor. Wanting to be able to work with her clientele on a more personal level, Tammy decided to develop her knowledge and skills even further by earning certification through the internationally recognized Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals (CanFitPro) to become a Personal Trainer Specialist. Recognizing that one should never stop learning, she continues to develop her knowledge through attending fitness conferences and workshops, reading various industry publications and books and listening to industry podcasts.


Tammy is now the Owner / Operator of Tammy Snow-Johnston Fitness, specializing in Women's Personal Training & Group Fitness. Her approach is based strongly on her belief that fitness can be enjoyable and accessible to anyone and everyone. Starting with body weight exercises, she gradually adds small equipment like dumbbells, stability balls and resistance bands to offer more challenge and variety. With no shortage of modifications and progressions to consistently keep clients motivated and challenged, Tammy is always fully prepared with an arsenal of exercises suitable to give anyone a safe and effective workout no matter what their fitness level.


Of course, Tammy also loves drawing upon her skills as a performer to lead fun and high energy group fitness classes including Barre, Yoga and Balletone. It is clear that she has a unique ability to connect with people to coach, energize and encourage them to be the best version of themselves.
